White sauce pasta Recipe | béchamel sauce pasta
White sauce pasta also known as béchamel sauce pasta is basically an Italian dish, made with the use of butter, cheese, milk and refined flour(maida). It gives a creamy taste that might tingle your taste buds and, the veggies added to it not only enhance its taste but, also gives a pleasant fragrance. As, it is made with milk, butter, cheese and flour, it is heavy to eat, so most people like it in the evening breakfast.
Ingredients:
1) Penne pasta: 1 bowl
2) Oil: 3 tsp
3) Veggies:
i) Broccoli: 1/2 bowl chopped
ii) Capsicum: 1/2 bowl chopped(you can use different coloured capsicum or switch to one.)
iii) Baby corn: 1/2 bowl
iv) Carrot: 1/2 bowl
v) Green peas: 1/2 bowl
4) Butter: 4 tsp
5) Flour(maida): 4 tsp
6) Milk: 1/2 ltr
7) Cheese: 4 slices
8) Chilli flakes: 1/2 tsp
9) Oregano: 1/2 tsp
10) Black pepper: 1/2 tsp
11) salt: as per taste
Note-
1) Chop all the veggies in to 1-2 inches.
2) You can add other or omit some of this veggies according to your taste and like.
3) Oregano and chilli flakes might be not available at your home, so do not panic you can skip adding oregano as it takes a long procedure in getting prepared but, you can make chilli flake at home. Just take 4-5 chilli's saute it( for approx. 1 minute) on low flame and then grind it after it gets cool.
Recipe:
Boil three glasses of water in a vessel, mix one spoon of salt and one spoon of oil in it. As soon as the water starts boiling, add the raw pasta in it and keep stirring it occassionally until it is completely cooked. Off the flame. Take the pasta into the container and pour cold water on it. Now keep it aside to drain the water.
Then, heat two spoons of oil in a pan and add all the veggies in it. Saute them lightly on medium flame (Remember, the vegetables should not be overcooked). Add 2 pinch of salt in it. Once they are sauted, off the flame.
Now, heat another pan and add butter to it, and put the gas on low flame, add flour and keep stirring it for about 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of milk in it and keep whisking it so that the flour does not get stick to the pan. As soon as it gets thicken repeat this task and add, one more cup of milk and keep whisking it for about 2 minutes now, add whole milk to it and Keep stirring until it comes to a boiling on medium flame, add the cheeze slices and keep stirring until it melts now, add oregano, chilli flakes, black pepper and give it a stir, add veggies and salt to it, let it cook for about 2 minutes and then add pasta once, the veggies, sauce and pasta are mixed properly, off the flame.
